Founder of All Aussie Rescue, SkipBo is joining us over the next two weeks to chat with us about wildlife. Listening to him speak it is clear he is passionate about the work he's doing.
SkipBo started out in the Zoo industry and wildlife rescue at a young age and has worked from crocodiles to snakes to specialising in pink marsupials. He's travelled the world volunteering and working with a variety of animals. I think the prerequisite to working in this world is to survive on little sleep! When feeding duties are on the agenda, that's an all day thing so make sure you have a reliable alarm clock! In this week's show SkipBo talks to us about marsupials. If you've forgotten your biology class, don't fear, SkipBo is here - you get a refresher on this show. He'll be sharing with us how to check a marsupials pouch for joeys if you find one dead or you hit one. If you're in Australia, I'd suggest you have all the equipment ready in the car just in case. We learn how to remove a joey from a pouch and what to do with them until you can get them into professional care.Oh and we hear a story about the Goliath Tarantula. Not my favourite topic, but that's Far North Queensland for you!!!
Next week we'll be chatting about the Australian 2019/20 Bushfires that SkipBo was involved in. He also talks to us about the horrors of 1080 baiting. Make sure you tune in for that episode.

This week in the Chat Box I will be stepping away from domestic animals and connecting in with the Kangaroo collective. Talking to wild animals is enlightening and they have a lot to say. In this episode, the kangaroos talk to us about their main threats (both are easily guessed), what's happening in their physical bodies from poisons and they talk about how they feel about being "murdered" (their word).
