Nancy Gordon is on a mission; to educate the world about grief and loss and her passion is to help guide pet parents through the heartbreaking journey of pet loss and grief.
We have and will ALL struggle with grief at some point in our lives, whether it's losing a pet, a family member, your job, divorce, etc; it is a given and the less you understand about grief, the more difficult it is. Education is important so you can learn how to face your grief. It is not about making it go away, it is about changing how it affects you. Don't let it imprison you, come and learn from Nancy so you can take steps towards unlocking the heart and move towards a place of healing.
Nancy Gordon, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Life Coach is a #1 international best-selling author and speaker. After an almost life ending car crash, it was Nancy’s personal experiences of going from hurting to healing that led her to combine her professional expertise with her personal experience with fibromyalgia and a mild traumatic brain injury, offering a unique perspective in her transformational methodology “7 Practices to Manage Your Mind and Heal Your Heart". 17 years later, after facing the difficult decision to “lift up” both her service dogs within 9 months of each other, it became Nancy’s heart-felt passion to use her methodology to make a difference in how the world perceives, understands, experiences, supports, and heals loss and grief arising from any challenge, but most passionately related to pet loss. Nancy is especially well-known for her uplifting journey with her service dog Toaster, documented Animal Planet, on which Pink was born . Nancy published Pink's true story in the inspirational children’s book “Pink, the 3 Legged Dog Who Lost Her Leg and Found Her Courage." As a motivational speaker using her wit and wisdom to inspire hope and healing, Nancy has shared her story and methodology through other media, such as TV, radio interviews, books, and magazines. Her upcoming books From Hurting to Healing Through Pet loss is due out in 2021.
In this episode we get to hear about Nancy's incredible journey and we also learn more about grief itself.

Cody is a 12 year old Aussie Sheperd Mix adopted from the local Humane Society at 4 months old. He's coming into his stately years and is displaying a few strange behaviours and Mom wants to check these out. He's staring at the wall, hiding down in the garage and following them around the house. We chat to Cody about all of these issues, but he also has a bit to say about his house buddy Hagrid and his laziness on walks, he wants more of "that biscuit" please Mom and he's also wanting dress ups for the upcoming Halloween!!! The health problems are always interesting and important to hear from their perspective how they feel and what's going on for them.
