PART 2 OF OUR CHAT WITH ALL AUSSIE RESCUE FOUNDER, SKIPBOThis week, we get to hear about his involvement in the devastating Black Summer, Australian Bushfires from 2019/20. He talks to us about his conservation educational program he is about to launch and we hear about what's happening with 1080 baiting of dingos and why they're such an important part of our wildlife.Founder of All Aussie Rescue and Scales of Wildlife, President of Far North Queensland Wildlife Rescue, SkipBo is joining us over the next two weeks to chat with us about wildlife. Listening to him speak it is clear he is passionate about the work he's doing.SkipBo was brought up in remote Far North Queensland (Australia) and was surrounded by wildlife right from when he was born. He started out in the Zoo industry and wildlife rescue at a young age and has worked from crocodiles to snakes to specialising in pink marsupials. He's travelled the world volunteering and working with a variety of animals.I think the prerequisite to working in this world is to survive on little sleep! When feeding duties are on the agenda, that's an all day thing so make sure you have a reliable alarm clock! Last week we hear about marsupials, checking their pouches if you see one dead on the side of the road (or you hit one yourself), how to remove a joey and the importance of doing this correctly.CONTACT SKIPBO:Facebook: @allaussierescueInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/all_aussie_rescue

These two weeks I have been talking to our wildlife. Last week we heard about the threats to the Kangaroos and how they feel about that; particularly on a physical level. This week I am talking to the White Cocky, aka the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. A highly intelligent, practical animal, that doesn't care too much for the humans of the world. They certainly know how to be present and live in the now. They have some lessons they are happy to teach us, the question is are we hearing the lessons and what are we doing about it. As always, an interesting chat with our wildlife.
